time for an update At Closing the Gap last month, I realized that even with all of the new products on the market and the new content available with UDL features built in, there is still a great need for switch accessible trade books.
During the conference, there was lots of talk about creating an iPad version. I did a fair amount of research and determined that iBooks is not sufficient to provide a clean switch-accessible reading experience for these books, so the hunt is on for an app that could be used.
The best thing would be an app that has the capability of importing an HTML from directly from ABC and formatting it page by page with a read button.
Any ideas out there?
We are also interested in finding more volunteers and adding more books. A great way to do this is for someone who is training staff or parents to use Clicker, IntelliTools or Boardmaker to use the creation of a book from the template as a learning activity for a class. Then you could get 15 or 20 books created in one session!
Any one interested, please jump on in. Our templates probably need to be updated, and we don't have any Clicker 6 versions as of yet.
